The uniqueness of this project is to combine great musical performances to the quality of ancient and contemporary Liuteria Toscana. The program has been made for a better comprehension by a wide audience, especially for the youngest. To make the project even more interesting and complete, guided tours will be organized in the workshops of the artisan luthiers. But the real purpose is to make everyone aware about the sound of historical instruments that have been locked up in museums for too many years. In particular, we are talking about the Medicea Collection exhibited at the Museo dell’Accademia di Firenze and the hundreds of musical instruments, also of Medieval and Baroque construction,
that are preserved at the Biblioteca del Conservatorio Cherubini di Firenze that after a restoration they were no longer used. The sites where concerts will be held will contribute to enhancing the project: museums and historical building with their artworks and architecture will perfectly match with the handicraft manufacturing and the sound of the musical instruments. Each concert will be preceded by a video, in Italian and English, made by the Master luthier explaining his experiences. The program will be soon published on the website www.orchestrafiorentina.it.
